Meet the SolutionsHub team: Nick Wright

Nick Wright, Director and COO of SolutionsHub Limited, shares a little about himself and his role

Where do you live?

Port Erin, IOM.

Please tell us about your family

Live with my partner of nine years, Angie. I’ve a nine-year-old daughter called Evie and German Shepherd/Bulldog cross called Louie.

Please tell us about your role – what are some of the things it involves?

I tend to look after the licensing function for our clients whether are applying for a gambling licence or making an application for supervision under the Isle of Man Designated Business Act.

I write business plans, supporting documents and guide the clients through the licensing process.

I also work closely with our clients post licensing so as to ensure they meet their obligations under Isle of Man Gambling legislation. This can range from consulting on operational requirements to AML/CFT functions – and everything in between.

Can you tell us about your career so far? How did you arrive at SolutionsHub?

I’ve worked in both the public and private sectors for over 20 years having worked for large international offshore Banks as a Lending Underwriter/Relationship Manager before moving over to the Isle of Man Income Tax Division where I held the position of Intelligence Officer in the Investigations Team.

I subsequently moved to the IOM Gambling Supervision Commission as a Gambling Inspector before moving back into the private sector where I managed the eGaming function for ILS World.

More recently, and prior to SolutionsHub, I held the position of Operations Manager for Quanta Technology Limited – the worlds first licensed ethereum blockchain lottery provider. I was the first employee and helped set up operations and grow the team to the size it is today.

In 2018, I joined forces with Lee at SolutionsHub as an equity partner and hold the position of Director and COO.

What are some of the most enjoyable things about your job?

I enjoy working with a wide variety of clients with different products and services. I take a lot of satisfaction from taking the acorns of an idea and application and obtaining formal approval from the regulator for a licence.

It’s always good to hear feedback from our clients and proving our ongoing value to their business.

What are the aims and your hopes for SolutionsHub going forward?

To continue to solidify our position as the ’go-to’ company for crypto and gambling licences.

What do you like to do away from work?

Listening to music, spending time with family and going away on holidays.

Please tell us something about yourself that not many people know

That I’m a fully qualified mortgage advisor and, in my younger years, I used to be half decent footballer playing for the Avon and Somerset County Champions.
